What Is Regenerative Braking in Hybrids & Electric Vehicles

What Is Regenerative Braking in Hybrids & Electric Vehicles

What Is Regenerative Braking? Re-generative braking is a technology used in hybrid and electric vehicles to recover and store some of the kinetic energy. This captured electrical energy is stored in the vehicle's battery, effectively recharging it. This stored energy can later be used to power the electric motor. Regenerative braking systems work by converting the kinetic energy of the moving vehicle into electrical energy. One thing to keep in mind is Regenerative braking does not eliminate the need for traditional friction brakes entirely. In certain situations, such as emergency stops or when the battery is fully charged, hybrid and electric vehicles still rely on conventional braking systems to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. It is important to keep your brakes in good working order.                                     What Are The Advantages & D ... read more

How Often Should You Replace Brakes

How Often Should You Replace Brakes

Squeaking brakes are indicative of several things about your vehicle's braking system, but it might not necessarily mean your brakes are bad. Your brakes can be squeaking for many possible reasons, including dust or debris, caliper issues, and could even be the brakes’ quality. If the squeaking persists or becomes more intense or accompanied by other issues like decreased braking performance, it's recommended that you bring your vehicle in for an inspection and repair. Keeping up on the repairs ensures the safety and optimal performance of your vehicle.   You can reuse brake rotors when installing new brake pads. However, you must consider a few things when doing this, like compatibility of hardware and the condition of the rotors. The rotors should be inspected for signs of wear, warping, cracking, or excessive grooving. If the rotors are heavily worn, damaged, or warped beyond acceptable limits, they should be replaced to ensure safe and effective b ... read more

Why Are My Brakes Grinding

Why Are My Brakes Grinding

Why Are My Brakes Grinding? This is an audible indicator that your vehicle’s Brake Pads have worn out and need to be replaced. When you hear the Brakes Grinding in your car you need to get it checked out right away. If you wait to long to fix it will keep eating away at the rotor till its so thin that it breaks in pieces, or the Brake Caliper Pistons will pop out causing loss of Brake Fluid and cause total Brake failure. Remember its your life at stake as well as everyone else’s that is on the road with you. Brakes are a safety item on your vehicle and you want to make sure they stay in good repair so that you can stop safely in an emergency. If you hear a grinding noise when you apply your brakes give us a call and we will be happy to check your vehicles Braking System.
