Why Does My 6.7 Powerstroke Feel Sluggish? This is a common question among Powerstroke owners, A sluggish feeling in a 6.7 Powerstroke engine could be caused by several factors like clogged or dirty fuel filters. If your 6.7 Powerstroke feels sluggish, it could be due to various factors. Over time, Fuel Filters can become clogged with debris, restricting the flow of fuel to the engine, and this can result in reduced power and sluggish performance. Another Issue that come up is Why Does My 6.7 Have Low Boost? A dirty Air Filter can restrict the airflow into the engine enough that in can result in reduced power. Issues with the exhaust system, such as Exhaust Manifold Leaks or a restricted catalytic converter or faulty Diesel Particulate Filter, can also affect engine performance. How Do I Know If My Powerstroke Turbo is Bad? To determine if your Powerstroke turbo is bad, watch out for signs such as power loss, excessive smoke (black, white, or blue), and strange noises like whining or g ... read more

Why Does My Dash Say Service Def System? This is a question we get a lot and many things can cause this and we will go over some of the reasons this message comes up on your dash. Another question we get is Why Does My Truck Have A DEF System? We will look at both questions and give you some answers of why Diesel Trucks have a DEF System and why the Service DEF System message comes up on the dash. We will look at Why Does My Truck Have A DEF System first. The main reason late model Diesel Trucks and Cars have a DEF System is to control the amount of Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) that the vehicle emits. The EPA has mandated that the OEM’s had to control the Emissions that the Diesel Engine emits. The DEF Fluid gets injected into the exhaust stream before the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) unit. The Def Fluid goes through a mixing tube and enters the SCR unit, and the DEF Fluid reacts with the SCR and reduces the NOx and lowers the emissions coming out of the tailpipe. When the Servi ... read more

Should I Do A Coolant Flush? Another question we get asked is How Often Should I Do A Coolant Flush? When you buy a new vehicle, it may say that it has long life coolant or Lifetime Coolant. There really is no such thing as Lifetime Coolant. Your driving habits and what you use the vehicle for may make it necessary to have a Coolant Exchange performed on your vehicle. Depending on how you use your vehicle it may need a Coolant Exchange between 30,000 to 50,000 miles. One of the reasons a Coolant Exchange needs done is over time rust and deposits can build up in a cooling system because of the different kinds of metals in the cooling system. These deposits can plug up the small passageways in the engine and radiator when this happens the cooling system loses efficiency. You can do it yourself by opening the drain on the radiator if it has one or by taking the lower radiator hose off which makes a big mess. Either way you still will not get all the coolant out of the vehicle. The best wa ... read more

Is My Turbo Failing? There are many reasons why you may wonder if your Turbo is failing. One of the first things to check for are exhaust leaks from the manifolds and exhaust pipes the feed the turbos depending on the make and model of your Diesel Truck. All the Exhaust leaks must be fixed first before we can determine Is My Turbo Failing. The next thing to check for is Boost Leaks from the Charge Hose Connections or the Charge Air Cooler. If there are leaks, they need to be fixed next depending on the size of the leak it we may need to hook special test equipment the boost side of the turbo and pressurize the system to full boost pressure to be able to find the Boost Leaks. Once we have done the simple things such as fixing all the leaks then we need to hook the scan tool the vehicle. We do a full scan of the ECM and note all the codes see if any relate to Turbo Failing. We can then take it on a test drive and make sure the engine is fueling correctly for the amount of Turbo Boost tha ... read more

When Should My Injectors be Replaced? If you own a truck with a diesel engine there are many different reasons why you experience a When Should My Diesel Injectors Be Replaced. If you truck is having an Engine Misfire the easiest thing to do is take it to a shop that can hook it to a scan tool capable of cutting the injectors out 1 cylinder at a time and see which cylinder is Misfiring. Another reason you may replace have to replace the Diesel Injectors in your truck is if it is Blowing White Smoke at an Idle. This may be an indication of the injectors leaking into the Cylinder and would need the injectors replaced. If you are getting a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT that turns on in your truck with a code P0087 that is harder to diagnose what the root cause of the problem may be. Depending on the model of the truck you need to have the OEM scan tool to be able to set the rail pressure at a DIAGNOSTIC pressure so that you can do a Fuel Return Flow Test on your injectors. If the return fuel amount ... read more
